The studios of porn bad boy Max Hardcore were raided by the FBI this week. Apparently the feds were looking to gather evidence for another obscenity charge against Hardcore. According to AVN:
Max Hardcore’s studio, Max World Entertainment, was raided approximately 10 a.m. on Wednesday by FBI agents searching for five titles being investigated for obscenity.
This is Hardcore’s second obscenity charge since 2001, when he entered into a three-year-long trial brought by the city of Los Angeles over the release Max Extreme 4. That trial concluded with a plea bargain down to a “public nuisance” charge brokered in May 2004.
Max Hardcore has already issued a statement about the FBI raid:
Once again, the government is wasting tax dollars and otherwise invaluable law enforcement resources to try to force a minority view of morality on all of America… no, the world. Five movies have been targeted by the Federal Prude Patrol. There is no indication of any crime to be alleged except obscenity. If indicted, I will fight to protect my liberty, as well as the liberty of consenting adults to watch other adults engage in lawful, consensual, pleasurable sexual action. Shame on the Bush Department of Justice. I am proud of the movies I make and proud of those who buy and sell those movies.
Max has plenty of money for lawyers and he’s beat the government before, so no doubt he’ll fight for his right to free speech again. How can any thinking person disagree with Max’s point - the government is wasting time and taxpayer money attacking consenting adults for having sex, as if there were no other area where their resource could be better spent. American taxpayers should be outraged.
The extremist “war on porn” (a code phrase for the current government’s war on free speech) continues.
